Summer Reading Program Progress
We may be halfway through Summer Reading, but there are plenty of ways to join the fun in July! Sign up today if you haven’t already! Check out the calendar for Library’s full list of July programs, and make plans to come to our Summer Reading Ending Celebration July 22 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Free Summer Meals for Area Kids
JPL is proud to partner with Joplin School’s Nutritional Services department to provide free lunches to area kids starting on Wednesday, July 5. Any child under 18 years old is eligible to receive a sack lunch, which will be handed out Monday through Friday beginning at 11:00 a in the lobby of the Library. They will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis with the program running through August 11. All food must be eaten onsite.
Special Summer Performances at JPL
Join Library patrons for fun performances throughout the month of July. All shows are recommended for kids between the ages of five and 12. Children under nine must be accompanied by an adult.
Jay & Leslie’s Laughing Matters
Friday, July 7 @ 2:00 to 3:00 pm
Join Jay an Leslie for “United We Laugh,” a show that incorporates juggling, stories told with humor and heart, and library fun!
Spin, Pop, Boom! with Mad Science of Great Kansas City
Friday, July 12 @ 2:00 to 3:00 pm
When things work together, exciting results happen! Find out how with Mad Science of Greater Kansas City. Their “Spin, Pop, Boom!” performance is an interactive presentation that highlights the astounding connections and reactions of our world.
Fire Dog
Friday, July 21 @ 3:30 to 4:30 pm
Come ready to sing, dance, clap, and howl along to these awesome St. Louis-based children’s musicians!
