Save the date for the Wildcat Glades Nature Group’s 2023 Water Festival!
This annual festival is one of the best get-togethers in Joplin and will be held on Saturday, July 22 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The day will feature 20+ informational booths, food trucks, cardboard boat races, shoebox boat races, entertainment, a lazy river float, and rubber duck races. The schedule of events is as follows:
- 9:00 am: Fishing derby at Walter Woods hosted by the Missouri Department of Conservation for kids 15 years old and younger (only 15 spots available; participants must register by calling 629.3434).
- 9:00 am: 11:00 am: Lazy River Float
- 9:00 am: 12:00 pm: People’s Choice for cardboard boats and shoebox boats
- 10:30 am: Fishing Derby Awards
- 12:00 pm: Shoebox Boat Race
- 1:00 pm: Cardboard Boat Race
- 1:30 pm: Shoebox Boat Awards
- 2:00 pm: Rubber duck race
- 2:15 pm: Awards for duck and cardboard boat races
