(Joplin, MO) – Downtown Joplin Alliance is thrilled to kick off the sixteenth season of Third Thursday with a “Go Green” themed event on March 16, 2023.
The evening’s events include:
- Live Music from Vagabond Grove at 5:30 pm and Higher Ed at 7:15 pm.
- Hot Air Balloon demonstration and Paramotors display (powered paragliders, featuring pilot Jason Tyler).
- More than 20 food trucks and food booths
- Patio and on street dining
- Vintage car cruise on the 100 block
- Artisan market on the 500 block
- Corn hole and other yard games provided by Sparklight.
- Girl Scouts of the Missouri Heartland will be selling cookies!
- KOAM-TV will be on air at 5:00 pm to kick off the 150th Birthday Celebration of Joplin
- Free COVID vaccines and bivalent booster shots provided by the City of Joplin Health Department (available inside of City Hall).
- GO GREEN selfie photo booth and information about recycling drop–off locations and the upcoming electronic recycling collection events, provided by Region M Waste Management.
Downtown Joplin Alliance encourages all attendees to wear their best green outfits to stroll around downtown!
Lori Haun, executive director of the Downtown Joplin Alliance, states, “Third Thursday is one of the events that pulls people from all walks of life together each year. We are excited to kick off our sixteenth season and hope to see everyone downtown!”
Third Thursday is held from 5:30 pm – 8:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month from March to October. Sponsors, volunteers, and vendors are all being sought for the remaining events of the season.
