Jake Heisten Named Director For The MOKAN Partnership

(Joplin, MO) – The MOKAN Partnership and its Board of Directors have selected Jake Heisten as the new Executive Director of MOKAN.  

“We are very excited to announce Jake Heisten as the new Executive Director for the MOKAN Partnership,” says Travis Stephens, President of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. “Jake has many pre-existing relationships built throughout our 7-county region and has a truly intimate understanding of the business climate and culture in our area. He has spent 16 years working with businesses, nonprofits, and government sectors to drive many new business expansions and attractions, which will be his primary role as Director of MOKAN.” 

Heisten holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Missouri Southern State University. He has held a variety of positions throughout his career, including working as a field representative and research assistant for two different Missouri Representatives in Congress and the Missouri State Senate. He comes to MOKAN from the Neosho Area Business & Industrial Foundation where he was the Chief Executive Officer.

Heisten’s first day with the Partnership was October 24. As MOKAN Director, he will work with regional business leaders to advance economic development, community growth, and regional partnerships throughout a seven-county tri-state region of Missouri, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
