Freeman Neosho ER Renovations to Reduce Wait Times
Freeman Neosho Hospital has cut the ribbon on a completely renovated emergency department, celebrating a $1.5 million dollar investment in the facility.
The floor-to-ceiling renovation of the emergency department includes the addition of three new negative pressure isolation rooms, a negative pressure triage screening room, a new nurses’ station, new cabinets and work surfaces, centralized storage, glass enclosures and new paint, floors and ceilings.
“This new space will save an incredible amount of time between patients,” said Kyle Bridges, Freeman Neosho Hospital Assistant Director of Nursing. “The downtime required for sterilizing a room after treating a COVID-19 patient was up to 90 minutes. That time is shortened dramatically with negative pressure rooms.”

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals® Client Inspires Community at Christmas
The holidays may be over, but that doesn’t mean the feel-good stories have to end! Five-year-old Nora Beachner’s family has received assistance from Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals since she was an infant. This year, they wanted to give back, so they donated the $400 from their family’s yearly walnut sale to CMN.
Word of Nora’s generosity spread fast and inspired many others to match Nora’s gift. When Nora and her family formally made their donation to Freeman on December 20, they were given a great surprise — their gift had inspired $20,000 in matching gifts from others in our community!

Healthy Joplin, a combined effort of One Joplin and the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, is working on a group walking initiative in the community. If you or your organization is interested in hosting a walking group (it’s easy, we promise), you’ll find information about how to participate on the Walking Leaders Facebook group.

The Freeman Caregiver Support Group will meet on Thursday, January 20 at 10:30 am in the Freeman East Conference Rooms.
