(Joplin, MO) – The Downtown Joplin Alliance (DJA) announced on Tuesday, August 10 that they had appointed two new members to their board of directors, Cynthia Olmstead and Shawn Hull.
Cynthia Olmstead is the Retail Banking Officer for Joplin’s McClelland Blvd. and 32nd Street locations of Guaranty Bank. Olmestead has been with Guaranty Bank for two years. She is married to Mike Olmstead and has a son, Jude. She was born and raised here in Joplin and is a longtime participant and previous employee of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the board of Joplin Workshops, and as a volunteer staff member at Souls Harbor.
Shawn Hull is the Director of Strategic Planning and Institutional Effectiveness at William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri. Hull was previously Director of Advancement and began his career at William Woods as a history professor. He was born and raised in Joplin, and he is an alumni of Missouri Southern State University. Hull was also recently appointed to the Joplin Traffic Commission.

Lori Haun, executive director of DJA, stated, “We are excited to add Cynthia and Shawn to our board. They are both so passionate about Joplin and just love downtown! ”
