Ozark Center and Show-Me Hope Providing Mental Health Support During COVID-19

(Joplin, MO) – Feeling the stress of 2020? The Ozark Center, in cooperation with Show-Me Hope, provides support for anyone during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their focuses include:

  • Providing emotional and stress reduction support
  • Promoting the use of healthy coping strategies
  • Connecting individuals with other agencies that can help

If you or someone you know is experiencing anxiety, loss of sleep, excessive worry, mood swings, anger, or any other unusual behavior changes and would like to talk to someone, please call their 24-hour help and resource line at 417.347.7070 or 800.247.0661. These services are available free of charge, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

If you’re interested in regular classes on coping with stress during the pandemic, the Ozark Center will be hosting regular Stress and Coping Connect Events every Tuesday and Thursday during October and November at 6:00 pm.

These virtual courses will help emphasize the importance of self-care and the effects of stress on physical and mental health. Lessons include how to identify personal stressors and use quick relaxation and mindfulness techniques.
