(Joplin, MO) – There will be a public meeting of the Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) Policy Board at 1:30 pm on Thursday, September 17 in the Council Chambers of the Joplin City Hall (located on the fifth floor), 602 South Main Street.
Items to be discussed include the Fiscal Year 2021 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) and a progress report on the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) update. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MODOT) and the Joplin Regional Airport will also provide updates on COVID-19 impacts. The UPWP lists the transportation studies and tasks that MPO staff and member agencies will perform to support the metropolitan transportation planning process and is updated annually. The MTP is a long-term plan that identifies how the region intends to invest in the transportation system and is updated every 5 years.
This public notice, public involvement activities, and time established for public review and comments on the TIP will satisfy the FTA Section 5307 Program of Projects requirements for Metro Area Public Transit System (MAPS).
