(Joplin, MO) – The Lafayette House Board of Directors is pleased to announce the selection of Susan Hickam as its new executive director, to replace the retiring Alison Malinowski Sunday.
Ms. Hickam was most recently the assistant director at the Crisis Intervention Center of Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Her broad experience includes work in the domestic violence field; serving as a sexual assault advocate; and work for the United States Probation & Pretrial Services Office as a supervisor, sentencing guidelines specialist and training coordinator.
In her new role, Ms. Hickam will provide executive leadership for Lafayette House operations, which include programs for victims of domestic or sexual violence and women’s substance use treatment.
Ms. Hickam is a native of Webb City, Missouri and is a graduate of Missouri Southern State University’s criminal justice program.
