Joplin Little Theatre (JLT) is gearing up for their 2021–2022 season with open auditions, season tickets, and summer repairs. Here’s what’s coming up this month.
Upcoming Auditions
Looking to get involved with the local theatre scene? Consider auditioning for JLT’s upcoming production!
Clue: On Stage — A mystery comedy directed by Tegan Whited. The classic board game comes to life on stage and all the suspects are present: Colonel Mustard, Mrs. White, Mrs. Peacock, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, and Mr. Green. This will be an evening of madcap slapstick, murder, mystery, and laughs as they seek to puzzle out the culprit amongst the criminals.
Auditions will be held August 9 and 10 at 7:00 pm at JLT, 3009 W. 1st Street in Joplin. Participants should be prepared for cold readings from the script, which will be provided. Casting needs are as follows:
- Six men, ages 20+
- Five women, ages 20+
- Must be available for performance dates, September 29 to October 3.
It Isn’t Too Late to Order 2021–2022 Season Tickets!
JLT season tickets are available until October 3, 2021! Season tickets for adults are $75 apiece and $65 for seniors and students. Individual tickets are also available for each show for $18 apiece for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and $8 for children under twelve years. Or you can consider a FlexPass and choose which shows you see:
- Five-Ticket FlexPass: $80 for adults, $70 for seniors and students.
- Three-Ticket FlexPass: $51 for adults, $42 for seniors and students.
Please note that FlexPasses can only be purchased through the JLT Box Office.
Children’s Summer Workshop 2021
The 2021 Children’s Summer Workshop was a big success, thanks to Workshop Director Tegan Whited, her staff, and much cooperation by all!
Over 100 children participated in either session, “Stranded on an Island” or “Searching for Artistic Inspiration.”
Summer Clean-Up
When you visit JLT next, you’ll see how busy we’ve been this summer! The building has been painted, cleaned, and spruced up.
Plus, keeping in mind the situation with COVID-19, the theatre will again be professionally cleaned between each performance by Helping Hands Cleaning Service.
