Library Partners to Offer Registration Help for COVID-19 Vaccine

(Joplin, MO) – Any residents of southwest Missouri who would like help registering for the COVID-19  vaccine are invited to come to the Joplin Public Library at 1901 E. 20th Street in Joplin, Missouri on Wednesday, March 17, from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.

The Area Agency on Aging Region X, a non-profit community organization, will have representatives at the Library to assist community members in locating an available COVID-19 vaccine, registering for it, sending appointment reminders, and even providing transportation to the vaccination appointment.

Anyone who meets the State of Missouri’s eligibility criteria to receive the COVID-19 vaccine will be offered this free registration service. Find out for whom the COVID-19 vaccine is now available here or call 877.435.8411.

In general, those who are currently eligible include nursing home staff and residents, health care workers, first responders, public safety workers, individuals 65 and older, and adults with certain underlying health conditions. Those who will become eligible on Monday, March 15 include teachers, child care workers and employees in the communications, information technology, wastewater, transportation, energy, and food production sectors.

The registration help will be first-come-first-served, in a drop-in format.  If someone is unable to attend this registration event, they are encouraged to call the Area Agency on Aging Region X directly at 417.781.7562 to receive the same service.
