(Joplin, MO) — The Joplin Empire Market will be hosting Eric Osen, Ozark Gateway Master Gardeners, as he welcomes the winter season by holding an informational event on November 14 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. in the Empire Gardens.
The event, Putting Your Garden to Bed, is open to the public and will be come and go during regular Market hours. Osen will have handouts available to take home touching on topics such as cleaning up garden beds, preparing soil for the next growing season, composting ideas, and planning for the next year. He will be available to visit about removing dead plants and invasive weeds, soil testing, planting cover crops, and more.
Market Coordinator, Ivy Hagedorn, states, “we are thrilled to have Eric Osen lending his expertise to our Empire Gardens program. We have big plans for the gardens this winter and spring, including the launch of our Empire Sprouts kids program. Stay tuned for more.”
