(Joplin, MO) – The Center of Entrepreneurship at Missouri Southern State University will offer the Entrepreneurial Planning and Management Certificate entirely online for the Fall 2020 semester.

The certificate is designed to prepare individuals to create a business plan for the purpose of starting and managing a new business, said Ken Surbrugg, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship. The online program has been made available through a new initiative administered by the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development.

“The State of Missouri has a program called Return Strong,” he said. “It’s designed to help individuals who have been displaced or are unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This covers not just the legal components of establishing a business entity, but investigating the idea or opportunity.”

The nine credit-hour program can be completed in just one semester. Classes will begin Monday, August 17, and conclude by Friday, December 11. To enroll, visit mssu.edu.
